Explanation of Municipal Map Numbers

The municipality maps in this collection are referenced by a four digit number.  The first two digits indicate the section number of the map, while the final two digits indicate subsectional divisions according to the examples provided in the diagrams below. EXAMPLES: a municipality map of Section 11 will be assigned number 1100; a municipality map of NE 1/4 of Section 11 will be assigned the number 1110; and a municipality map of the NW 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of Section 11 will be assigned the number 1112.
