Welcome to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Department website: The sheriff’s department continues to work very hard to improve our communications with the great citizens of Dodge County. The website you are currently visiting is just one example of our expanded public affairs and educational efforts. I hope that you will gain valuable knowledge as you “surf” our site. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Department has 180 dedicated employees and works within a budget of approximately $18 million. I am very proud of our accomplishments as we have significantly reduced our fatality rate, increased revenue from our detention facility, started numerous community programs and modernized equipment. This website will allow us to showcase our continued efforts and provide that vital link to you, the citizens and customers for which we proudly serve. Some of our newest additions to the department are our two K9 units, Paige and Ziva. Both are trained in drug detection and searching. Launched in fall of 2011 both K9‘s and their handlers have experienced tremendous success. We look forward to many years of production from each of them. Another initiative started a few years ago that continues to impress me is our volunteer Posse members and the great amount of work they do. Please click on the Posse link to learn more. We have two other groups who are equally important to us, the Dodge County Explorer Program which serves our youth and the Dodge County Emergency Response Team (DCERT). These organizations are true ambassadors for the department and instrumental in the success of our community support missions. Please visit each page and division within the department and familiarize yourself with your sheriff’s department. Each and every division within the department has a specific mission and has fulfilled that mission. Many people have their own perception as to what the sheriff’s department does. Wisconsin State Statutes 59.27 states our responsibilities and provides the foundation of our mission statement that is displayed above. Those duties include operation of the county jail, serve civil process, sale of foreclosed property, security of the county courts; enforce general orders, safeguarding and rescue within our local waterways and any other duties required by law. Not written in the statutes are our more visible role of highway safety and enforcement and investigation of crimes. Our long term goals for 2012 – 2014 is to implement a county-wide records management system so all of our county's 21 law enforcement agencies can share records electronically. This initiative will greatly enhance the service we provide to the citizens of the county. I am very proud to be your Sheriff and do not take my service to you for granted. Though we have grown and greatly improved our services since 2003 we still have a ways to go. This website will allow you to stay abreast of the latest changes within your sheriff’s department.
