An
interconnected system of over 320 miles of groomed County snowmobile trails
awaits the winter recreationist in Dodge County.
The trails traverse farm fields, woodlots, lowlands and the Wild Goose
State Trail – an abandoned railroad grade.
Easy access to the trails can be made from connecting corridor trails in
Dane, Columbia, Fond du Lac, Washington and Jefferson Counties or by trailering
to the many parking areas along the trail at commercial establishments or public
facilities.
The
Snowmobile Trails (320 miles, including the
Wild Goose
Trail) can be opened if:
1.
All trails are cleared, marked and signed
and
2.
The trails receive sufficient snow cover (generally a minimum of
4"-6")
The Snowmobile
Trail System is divided into a Northern Zone and a Southern Zone.
Highway 151 south of Beaver Dam and HWY 33 east of Beaver Dam form the
zone boundary (See Map).
The
Snowmobile Trail System can be opened by zone if conditions warrant keeping one zone open and
one zone closed.
The
Trail system typically experiences periods of sufficient snow cover followed by
melting conditions and is, therefore, subject to frequent openings and closings
throughout the season. It is vital
for all snowmobilers to verify the trail status prior to riding the trails.

The
continued use of the Dodge County Snowmobile Trail System depends upon all
snowmobilers obeying the trail regulations and riding responsibly. |
