~ Warning ~
Parking and riding from Horicon Refuge parking lot at HWY 49 to the ATV trail is ILLEGAL.  ATVs running on Refuge property will be ticketed.  North end parking available in East Waupun (Shamrock Road and East Waupun Road - 1/2 mile south of HWY 49.)

The Dodge County ATV trail season runs from December 1 through March 31.  Riding is only permitted during that time  when the County has officially declared the trail open (Trails Status Hotline - (920) 386-3705 - 24 Hours/Day).  ATV trails can be opened if there is sufficient ground freeze or snow base to prevent damage to the trail surface.

The Dodge County ATV Trail Program provides the maintenance of 20 miles of trail primarily located on the surfaced areas of the Dodge County portion of the Wild Goose State Trail and the designated ATV trail routes through the communities of Burnett and East Waupun.  Some private lands are also crossed.  The ATV trail runs from HWY 60 north to HWY 49.

Parking areas are located at:  Hwy 60, Hwy 33 and East Waupun.

In order to preserve these trails for future public use and enjoyment for all, please follow and obey all signs, stay on the designated trails, use courtesy and common sense and enjoy happy and safe trailing.  No ATV use allowed on the adjacent horse trail or on the Dodge County snowmobile trails off of the Wild Goose State Trail.  Any soft areas that may exist on the trail must be avoided to prevent trail damage.  Tire chains are prohibited on the trail at all times.

ATV Trail Patrol
Yellow-vested ATV trail patrollers will be out on the trails assisting trail riders and reporting trail problems, issues and concerns to proper trail authorities.  The patrol will essentially serve as extra eyes and ears on the trail and will be available to provide information and assistance to help ensure safe and proper trail use by ATVers and other trail users.  Dodge County Rec Patrol officers and DNR wardens provide law enforcement on the trail.
