The
Dodge County ATV trail season runs from December 1
through March 31. Riding is only permitted during that time when the County has officially
declared the trail open.
ATV trails can be opened if there is sufficient ground freeze or snow base
to prevent damage to the limestone trail surface.
Trail
opening and closing announcements can be heard on local radio stations
and trail condition information can be obtained by calling the

A recorded trail status message will be heard after office hours.
The
Dodge County ATV Trail Program provides the maintenance of 20 miles of
County trail primarily located on the surfaced areas of the Dodge County
portion of the Wild Goose State Trail and the designated ATV trail
routes through the communities of Burnett and East Waupun.
There are also some private lands to be crossed in certain areas.
The ATV trail runs from the parking lot at HWY 60 north to HWY
49.
In
order to preserve these trails for future public use and enjoyment for
all, please follow and obey all signs, stay on the designated trails,
use courtesy and common sense and enjoy happy and safe trailing. No ATV use allowed on the adjacent horse trail or on the
Dodge County snowmobile trails off of the Wild Goose State Trail.
Any soft areas that may exist on the trail must be avoided to
prevent trail damage. Tire
chains are prohibited on the trail at all times.
ATV
Trail Patrol
Yellow-vested ATV trail patrollers will be out on the trails this season
assisting trail riders and reporting trail problems, issues and concerns
to proper trail authorities. The patrol will essentially serve as
extra eyes and ears on the trail and will be available to provide
information and assistance to help ensure safe and proper trail use by
ATVers and other trail users. |
