Friends of Dodge County Parks

Bylaw Changes and
Meeting Notice - Thursday, March 1, 2012

The Friends of Dodge County Parks was originally formed in 1985 as Friends of the Recreational Trail, Inc. (FORT) in order to raise funds and promote development of the Wild Goose Trail in Dodge County. Now years later, the Wild Goose Trail is virtually complete and other recreation pursuits and facilities in Dodge County need attention. Therefore in 1998, the Board of Directors and Officers decided to change the organization name and broaden its focus. The commitment to the support, fundraising and promotion of the Wild Goose Trail remains strong, but the expanded role affords the opportunity to increase membership and volunteers to the benefit of all the Dodge County County Parks. Additionally, the group is relied upon more by the Dodge County Land Resources and Parks staff and the Planning, Development and Parks Committee for input and direction on parks and trail plans, projects and issues.  Contributions made to the organization are tax deductible to the extent of the law and can be designated for specific purposes or parks such as benches for the trail, trees at a specific park, acquisition of new parkland, the parks endowment fund, etc.
