Job Description:

Under the direction of the Director of Land Resources and Parks, is responsible for field and office support of survey functions and tax parcel mapping activities for the County, and provides technical GIS/LIS services and support to the Land Resources and Parks Department, associated Dodge County departments and other clientele served by the Land Resources and Parks Department.  

Position Weighting- Survey 80%, CAD Mapping 15%, GIS Support 5%

Qualifications:

Level I: Four (4) year Bachelor’s degree in land surveying, mathematics, geography, cartography or related field. Minimum of one (1) year working knowledge of and practical experience with GPS survey equipment and software, CAD software, and GIS software (experience with LEICA equipment and software, LISCAD, Autodesk, and ESRI GIS software currently used by the Land Resources and Parks Department is preferred). Equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered. Prefer Registered Land Surveyor.
Level II: Four (4) year Bachelor’s degree with coursework in land surveying, mathematics, geography, cartography or related field, and minimum of two (2) years working knowledge of and practical experience with GPS survey equipment and software, CAD software, and GIS software (experience with LEICA equipment and software, LISCAD, Autodesk, and ESRI GIS software currently used by the Land Resources and Parks Department is preferred) and 6.0 CEU’s related to specific job responsibilities. Equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered. Prefer Registered Land Surveyor.
Senior: Four (4) year Bachelor’s degree with courses in land surveying, mathematics, cartography, geography, or related field, with minimum of four (4) years increasingly responsible experience related to specific responsibilities, working knowledge of and practical experience with GPS survey equipment and software, CAD software, and GIS software (experience with LEICA equipment and software, LISCAD, Autodesk, and ESRI GIS software currently used by the Land Resources and Parks Department is preferred) and 12.0 CEU’s related to specific job responsibilities; or Master’s Degree in a directly related field, three (3) years increasingly responsible experience related to specific responsibilities, working knowledge of and practical experience with GPS survey equipment and software, CAD software, and GIS software (experience with LEICA equipment and software, LISCAD, Autodesk, and ESRI GIS software currently used by the Land Resources and Parks Department is preferred) and  6.0 CEU’s related to specific job responsibilities. Equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered. Prefer Registered Land Surveyor.

Special Requirements:
1. Must meet requirements of the Dodge County Driver Qualification Policy.

Pay Ranges:

Level I:        $20.51 - $28.13
Level II:       $22.44 - $30.77 
Senior:         $24.36 - $33.41
