WIC is a special supplemental food program for women, infants, and children to help keep them healthy and strong. If your family includes a pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum woman; or a baby or child under the age of five, you may be eligible for this nutrition program.

WIC offers nutrition counseling, breastfeeding support, immunizations for children, lead screenings, referrals to other health services and vouchers to purchase healthy food. The supplemental foods include: milk, cheese, eggs, cereal, whole grain foods (100% whole wheat bread, brown rice, soft corn or whole wheat tortillas), peanut butter, canned fish (light tuna or pink salmon), dried or canned beans and peas, fruit juice, fruits and vegetables, baby foods and infant formula.

The WIC program uses income criteria similar to the free and reduced school lunch systems. You are likely income eligible for WIC if you receive Badger Care Plus benefits. Many working families qualify for WIC. Fathers, guardians, and foster parents may also apply for WIC for their children.

For more information, to apply, or to make an appointment please call the WIC office at 920-386-3680.
