Aging Programs are part of the Aging Services Unit of the Community Support Services Division of the Human Services and Health Department.  The Aging Services Unit manages the Senior Dining, Transportation, Alzheimer’s, Family Caregiver Support and Elderly Benefit Specialist programs for the county.

The Human Services and Health Department Board is responsible for making aging programs policy decisions.  This board consists of six county elected supervisors and three appointed citizen representatives.

The Aging and Nutrition Advisory Committee is appointed by the county Board of Supervisors. This committee consists of three County Board Supervisors, and six residents of Dodge County.

The community support services division manager is responsible for the supervision of Aging Service Programs in Dodge County.

Sources of income for the Aging Programs include federal, state and county dollars as well as donations.  Donations are a very important source of revenue for programs and account for 40% of the program’s income.

DONATIONS

Under the Older Americans Act, all persons who receive services are given an opportunity to contribute to the cost of each particular program, whether it is for meals, Benefit Specialist services, Outreach, Information & Assistance, etc.  Every contribution helps these programs to continue serving older residents.

Individuals must decide what portion of the cost they can contribute. Each person is encouraged to contribute what they feel they can afford. However, if an individual cannot contribute at any time, services will still be provided. (back to top)
