Facility for Developmentally Disabled (FDD)
Clearview is fortunate to have a well established unit which serves persons with developmental disabilities from Dodge and surrounding counties. The program offered is based on learning skills to function at the highest level possible. Individuals may call Clearview "home" for a short period of time or longer, depending on their needs. The FDD Unit may admit individuals needing short term rehabilitation in order to return to their previous placement. We also provide respite care for individuals who meet respite care criteria.
Depending on assessment, the
individual would be included in one of two program areas of
emphasis. Programs are developed and implemented by a Certified Occupational
Therapy Assistants, Activity Therapy Assistant, and
Certified Program Assistants. Persons who require consistent
structuring of their environment at all levels, which require staff
initiation and support, are usually involved in our Sensory Group.
This program encourages sensory awareness and stimulation as a means
to learn.
The focal point of our program, is the in-house Vocational Workshop. The workshop offers a variety of work experiences involving both simulated work tasks which teach skills needed to advance and participate in actual paid jobs. A company dedicated to recycling provides the workshop with a variety of jobs.

This may sound like we are all work and no play. That couldn't be further from the truth! With our enthusiastic staff, we are able to offer a wide variety of leisure time experiences, both at Clearview and in the community.
Clearview's Medical Director enables our unit to meet most medical needs. Registered Nurses staff our unit 24 hours a day and provide necessary nursing care.
You will find a strong commitment to maintaining family and guardian involvement on our unit. Our two Qualified Mental Retardation Professionals serve as a primary contact with families, guardians, and friends. Together, they develop a program plan which will enable each individual to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Clearview's Facility for the Developmentally Disabled continues to provide residential placement, short term rehabilitation, and respite care.
